Types of Coverage


Basic warranty is for a period of twelve (12) months from the date on purchase receipt. Extended warranty is for an additional twelve (12) months following the basic warranty period.

During the warranty period, products are warranted under normal use: a) to be free from any defect in design, material, and workmanship; and b) to be fit and sufficient for the purpose intended.

Return-to-Customer shipping costs will be paid by Defender for products under original and extended warranty if submitted by original purchaser. Free lifetime customer support services are also included in the warranties.

This warranty is in lieu of all other warranties expressed, implied or statutory, including, but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. In no event shall Defender be liable for special, incidental, or consequential damages.

Your Warranty Covers


  • Product mechanical and electrical failure.
  • Defects in workmanship or material.
  • Mechanical/electrical failure and defects
    on original parts and accessories that came with your product.





What Is Not Covered


  • Physical damage caused by abuse, misuse or negligence.
  • Failure due to fire or water damage.
  • Damage from power surges.
  • Failures caused by environmental factors, such as heat, dust and humidity.
  • Poor signal due interference caused from wireless devices (if applicable).
  • Consumables, including batteries, drums, toners, media, ink cartages, projector bulbs, etc.

Terms and Conditions


Extended Warranty General Information
  • Extended warranty only covers Defender products.
  • Extended warranty is only valid for products purchased from an Authorized Dealer.
  • Customer must always have a copy of the original sales receipt/invoice, product serial number and warranty certificate number (if claiming extended warranty) in order to claim the warranty (and extended warranty).
  • Customers can cancel their extended warranty for a full refund within the first 30 days of purchase of the warranty.2 If the customer cancels the extended warranty after the first 30 days of purchase, they will be refunded in full less a 10% administrative fee of the original price or $25, whichever is less.
  • Duration of the extended warranty commences on the product purchase date and expires on the date specified on the original receipt.

  • Service and Shipping
  • Products must be shipped to us prepaid by the customer. Return shipping will be paid by Defender.Applies only to shipping locations within Canada and the continental US (Alaska and Hawaii not included).
  • Customers who claim extended warranty will receive priority status for servicing their product.
  • There is a $50 service and administration fee for products returned that are not found to be defective. The customer will be responsible for return shipping fees.
  • All products returned must have an authorized RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) from our support team to be tracked and honored. The RMA must be issued within the warranty period for the warranty to be valid.3
  • If exchange or replacement of an item is required, the defective part will be exchanged or replaced.4 All functioning parts will be returned to the owner. Replacement items will retain the warranty period of the original purchase date.
  • Only Defender trained personnel may open the case of a product, as permanent damage to the unit may occur. All Defender warranties will immediately become null and void if any unauthorized third party opens an instrument case, removes the warranty sticker from across the seam of the case, removes any of the case screws, if the product serial number is altered, erased or removed, if the hardware or software is altered or if units are not installed as per manufacturer’s instructions or applicable security standards.
  • Extended warranty service is subject to manufacturer or supplier turnaround time where applicable.

  1. Please allow 1-4 weeks maximum for return delivery. Average return time is 2 weeks.
  2. The extended warranty cannot be canceled if customer made a previous claim with it.
  3. After issue, a RMA is valid for 60 days. If a product is received after 60 days, the RMA becomes void.
  4. If the product requires replacement and is discontinued or out of stock, it will be replaced with an updated model of equal or greater value. If an upgrade is not available, Defender will issue the customer a full refund for the original purchase price at their discretion.
